After the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics fire arrived in Beijing, China lit the Winter Olympic fire on Wednesday.
Beijing will host the Winter Olympics from February 4th to February 20th, becoming the first city to host the Summer and Winter Olympics. In the case of the COVID-19 pandemic, it means that overseas audiences will not be able to watch the games.
Cai Qi, chairman of the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee, lit the ceremony tinder. The tinder for the Winter Olympics left Athens on October 19 and was installed in a red lantern designed according to the tombs of the Han Dynasty. It was carried to Beijing by torchbearers dressed in white.
From Wednesday, the Tinder for the Winter Olympics will be displayed in the Olympic Park.
